The Center is one of the leading human rights Academic Institutions in Ethiopia that has been engaged in multidisciplinary human rights teaching, research, and community service.

It has been offering MA and Ph.D. programs in Human Rights and Children’s Rights. As part of its mandate to provide community services, the Center has been providing free legal aid services to those who cannot afford to pay for such services through its Access to Justice and Project STRACE (Project to Support the Human Rights Teaching, Research, and Community Engagement).

In all its activities, the CHR has aimed at institutionalizing a culture of human rights in Ethiopia by addressing gaps and challenges.
