The Center for Human Rights is currently implementing the STRACE-II project which has a sub project that addresses its community engagement endeavors. This sub-project titled “Community Based Human Rights Promotion and Protection” has delineated several activities including providing trainings and refresher workshops for community level rights promoters and human rights trainers, building the capacities of local governments and CSOs, supporting community level rights promoters, organizing local human rights awareness raising campaigns, and providing legal and administrative support for vulnerable groups. Moreover, the sub-project also organizes local advisory committee meetings that include key stakeholders from government agencies, CSOs and membership based associations with the aim of planning activities, monitoring their progresses in time and also evaluating their overall implementation with the view to forging sustained and orchestrated implementation to promote, respect and protect the human rights of particularly vulnerable segments of peoples in all the project sites.
