The Center for Human Rights’ blog is dedicated to the discussion and advancement of human rights. This platform invites contributions from students, academics, researchers, and individuals passionate about human rights issues.

Through this endeavor, CHR aims to strengthen its research endeavors by gathering diverse perspectives in the form of blog articles, thereby enriching discourse across various domains. Additionally, the blog seeks to heighten public awareness of fundamental human rights and contribute to citizen empowerment through the dissemination of credible knowledge. Moreover, it serves as a vital tool for community engagement, providing a reliable platform for accessible, well-written articles on human rights issues. Importantly, the blog endeavors to enhance the understanding and accountability of state actors and civil society organizations regarding their roles and responsibilities in human rights interventions.

Accordingly, we would like to invite contributors to send us articles. We welcome high quality academic blogs from anyone who is capable of meeting the quality standards we require.

Content

The blog will publish articles in relation to human rights promotion and protectionfrom multiple disciplinary perspectives. It welcomes contributions that analyze legislative, jurisprudential, socio-economic, and cultural developments impacting human rights in Ethiopia. It expects contributions that scientifically analyze the current status of human rights in Ethiopia. The submissions are expected to demonstrate societal relevance, be supported with facts, be well-argued academically, bring added value and preferably new content to debates related to human rights, and be relevant for the realization of human rights.

The blog aims to include ideas that address and attract readers both with advanced level knowledge and those with no legal background. Therefore, posts should be clear and concise and should leave out excessive background. Articles with mere opinion pieces withoutimpartial views and scientific analysis will not be accepted.

Furthermore, the blog will only accept original posts that are not published anywhere. However, once a blog is posted on our website, cross-posting or publication on other websites may be permissible. Finally, contributions should be free of any plagiarism.

General Guidelines

Process for Reviewing Submissions

Each submission will be reviewed based on the general guidelines. The timeframe for review will bethree weeks following the submission of the piece. The editorial decision may be acceptance or rejection or the piece will be returned to the author for revision. The decision whether to post a given contribution will be made solely on the basis of its quality. However, CHR reserves the right to refuse publication of submissions that do not comply with the mission of the blog or the instructions for authors.
